COMMON QUESTIONS RELATED TO PSYCHIATRY AND PSYCHOLOGY
A Psychiatrist is a Medical Doctor who can Prescribe medication and manage the Biological aspects of Mental Illness. A Psychologist on the other hand does not Prescribe medication but provides Psychological Interventions by talking with clients - using Evidence-based Therapies like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), etc.
What is the difference between a Psychiatrist and a Clinical Psychologist?
How do I know if I need to see a Psychiatrist or a Psychologist?
Psychiatrists are Medical Doctors who can prescribe medication. Psychologists and Counsellors focus on Therapy and Emotional support. We offer both the services. If you're unsure, our team can help guide you during your First Visit.
What Mental Health conditions do you treat?
We provide care for a range of concerns including Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar disorder, Schizophrenia, OCD, Substance-use disorders, Personality disorders, and more.
What should I expect during my First Session?
Your First Session will involve an Assessment of your Concerns, knowing your Personal History, and understanding your Current Symptoms. You'll also have a chance to discuss Goals for Treatment.
How long does treatment usually take?
The duration of Treatment can vary based on your specific Concerns, Goals, and how you Respond to Care. Some people benefit from Short-term support, while others may require Long-term Treatment - whether through Medication, Therapy, or a Combination of both. Your mental health professional will work with you to review progress and adjust the treatment plan as needed.
